In an impressive debut at the Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet (WVRAA) 2024 held on May 2-7 in Bacolod City, the Colonia Divina Sepak Takraw team representing Negros Occidental secured a notable Silver Medal. Despite being only their second year in the sport, the team’s outstanding performance reflects their dedication and skill.
Facing formidable opponents such as the defending champion from Ilo-ilo City, the Colonia Divina team, led by Coach Carren Barbas, Team Manager and Principal Alexander Lamason, and Trainer Joemie Meko Guanzon, displayed remarkable teamwork and resilience in the Championship match. The roster, including Jah Nahuel Guanzon, Kyle Mahilum, Justine Red Argawanon, and Vincent Galleto, showcased their talent on the court, earning praise for their efforts.
The Silver Medal in the team event is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Colonia Divina athletes, who have continuously honed their skills to compete at the regional level. Additionally, their success extended to the Doubles Event, where they secured another Silver Medal, further solidifying their presence as rising stars in Sepak Takraw.
